Hands-On Assignment 2

    Since beginning this course and developing my knowledge on vocabulary surrounding Information and Social Media, I have constructed my own definitions. For example, to me, media can be established as the medium for expression and communication. Similarly, social networking can be defined as a platform for communicating.

     I am currently signed up as a user on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Snapchat - all social networking sites. My Facebook account is very professional with select personal information about me. I mainly use this network for updates regarding my sorority in our group, so I typically check it at least once per day. In contrast, my Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok accounts are a bit more raw, personable, and fun. I find that I definitely share more personal information on these apps as I use them more to communicate directly with friends or post to select groups. I would say I use these apps at least three times a day. I typically use Pinterest and YouTube for entertainment in my limited spare time, so I'd say I use these apps about twice a week. In conclusion, I feel comfortable with my current use of social networking as I use it primarily for communication with friends, family, and events.
